Amidst all the excitement I missed this clip about JCOM. I sure hope they show the US cable cos how to do it!

For QCOM/wireless veterans, the IMS architecture came out of 3GPP, later adopted by 3GPP2, and with trivial changes has practically become a telecom standard for next gen all-IP networks. Sonus has some excellent literature on it at their web site, in a nutshell it creates a distributed network for telecom that looks a lot like a traditional distributed data network, with the ability to add applications servers(ie applications) quickly and easily. In conjunction with the deployment of their network, J:COM is also one of the first Sonus customers to deploy the IMX Application Platform.
