What I cannot understand is why Norman Mineta, the Secretary of Transportation, not only got a pass, but is one of the few holdovers from Bush's first term.

This guy is responsible for the final breach in our defenses that let the terrorists get on the planes. He might as well have had them announce, "now preboarding Muslim terrorists."

The airlines were afraid of being fined by him if they were too hard on Muslims. He is the reason we can't profile.

All I can figure is that, for some reason, Bush loves the guy.
