i believe that is how i started drinking at early age and it took a very long time to kick it. I don't think that works the same across the board. I was given wine and beer in my home from an early age and never became a drinker. I've been drunk only a couple of times in my life and got out of the habit of drinking altogether in my thirties (figured I'd rather get my excess calories from food <g>). I don't know if there's a perfect way to deal with this question. Seems to me that the couple in the article applied one reasonable approach.
