Digital is twenty bucks extra so I suppose some of that is box and remote control rental.

I went digital when I moved to islands to get the online TV schedule. It is so much better than the scrolling you get with basic cable. The wand they provide runs your TV and sound just like your present one. All you have to do is turn on the cable with it first. If you are into movies, the online, on demand, setup here is terrific. I don't use it, but you can run the movie for 24 hours just like a DVD. Stop, start, pause, etc.

And don't forget you can order takeout on your TV. All you have to do is get out of bed to answer the door. :>)
