There is a great need for liberal thinkers who employ sound reasoning to engage in the problems of our day. There is only so far we can go by conserving the status quo until we become oppressive.

The problem is the modern day liberals can't seem to get it.

For example:

1) The Rove/Plame thing. We should demand an accounting since Rove initially denied any knowledge of the thing and now we see that he knew exactly what the problem was. Bush is covering for him too. So, what do the liberals do? They exaggerate the problem to ridiculous levels, accusing the Bush Admin of trying to destroy the CIA. ...

2) The forged documents. We should demand an accounting of how flawed intelligence became operative in the State of the Union Address, and war plans. What do the liberals do? They accuse the Bush Admin of orchestrating 911 and the Iraq war to bolster their personal fortunes.

There are many issues that can only be resolved through sound reasoning with a liberal attempt to innovate future solutions. For example: We have a global energy crisis so anyone willing and able to produce nuclear fuel should be encouraged. The only way this can work is by building a Global Consortium of producers that monitor and police one another other. That will never happen from a purely conservative perspective.
