Verison used to have their headquarters here, the CEO lived next door to my parents. The main east-west switching station is still here. I tried to get Verison DSL but the lines to me won't handle it. Sad thing is, the MUX box that will handle DSL is 1/2 mile away and they ran new line from the box through the neighborhood 5 years ago and didn't upgrade it.
