It wouldn't have compared, even with the Japanese.

The deep fear and hatred of Blacks in the South in the 20's however, gives a better glimpse of the depths of the inter ethnic and inter tribal hatred that exists in Iraq and other nations in that region. These things go back to before the US was a nation.

One doesn't want get near any of that if they can avoid it.

One thing the looming oil shortage will do, besides reducing the quality of life of humans in general, will make it difficult for such meddling to happen. We keep hearing how the US will be replaced by some other world super power, but this isn't right. There won't be another, simply because the energy needed to attain such a position won't be available. Unless fusion is developed in time.....
