Fortunately, there's a lot of protected canyonland in National Parks in Utah. Unfortunately, there's even more canyonland, some of it spectacular, that is controlled by the BLM here in Utah. I suspect the Bush BLM will not protect it. Utah is a poor state, and could use the jobs, so there will be little will here to protect it either. There is a strong environmental movement here, but I'm not sure it'll be enough.
