Have you considered the possibility that the people who listen to him have a generally similar outlook with regard to current events? It seems quite logical to me. I've never seen any sign of lock-step thinking or brainwashing among his fans that I happen to know. I'm not a listener, but the ones I know are not in 100% agreement with him all of the time, but they enjoy the show enough to continue listening. I don't understand why you find that odd.
