I do love my country. I just think it's a hell hole because greedy politicians take advantage of misguided people to totally ingore using our resources to building a better country and instead focus people's attention overseas. War is their favorite drug and it works wonders.

I think America could be a much much better country with more enlightened leaders and a more proactive population. The U.S. is way down on many statistical measures of industrialized countries. That's a fact if you like it or not. We're not as great as many American sheeple think we are. The measures we're highest at are the bad ones, crime rates, incarceration rates, murder rates, divorce rates, etc.

I think myself and many on the left just want to build a better America for all. We couldn't be doing any worse really. Our electric system is based on 1950s technology. Our biggest city hasn't built a new subway since WW2. We have water problems when we don't have to in the Western U.S. The left want to turn our attention inward to build a better country. What's wrong with that? You do want a better country don't you? It has to start somewhere, the leadership certainly isn't coming from the top.
