The range of the Bengal tiger (Panthera tigris tigris) is Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, India, Western Myanmar and Nepal.

If you claim you ate tiger during war in Asia, the tiger was the Indo-Chinese tiger (Panthera tigris corbetti), or maybe the Korean tiger (Panthera tigris altaica).

Or maybe it's just one of those cool war stories . . . .
