A lot of people buy homes with money that isn't income--it's savings, or inheritance, or gifts, or equity from past homes. Define "a lot of people" and put a %age on it for us. Then tell me what %age of the remainder can afford the house they buy. Actually the stat I want to know is what % can afford the loan they take out. Mish
