Thanks for the warning -- I think I was offline so maybe missed it. I just turned Automatic Updates off, just in case.

But we still have three computers with Windows 98, so I have spares . . . . no matter how messed up one computer is, I can still access the Internet and get info on how to fix.

I do sympathize with the frustration. Especially with no Internet access! Everyone in my family has become addicts.

My older son was picking fights with his brother and went to bed early out of boredom.

When the other son and I fixed the Internet access, we didn't tell him, as a prank, and he did not take it well (being offline for several more hours)! I was contemplating not fixing it at all, but need it for work.
