Cube wasn't caught napping. Actually it doesn't have as much to do with the MPEG decoders as it does other parts of the system.

Its a process that happens before the decoding happens. It doesn't effect the decoder chips, Cube, STM, Zoran, (BTW: Oak was on the Divix conference call asking for these details).

The mid term problem that Divx causes is not for the chip manufactures but for the box manufatures. The need to add the Divix circuit between the drive and the decoders.

Divx = Dvd Is Virtually eXtinct. ?
I don't think so....
