Yes, I listened to the first 30 minutes of the conf. call. The Divx website contains most of the info. CEO confirmed that existing DVD players could not be upgraded to Divx, "As much as we would like to be able to do that."

Each Divx disc is has a digital "serial number" so it can be tracked. The CEO said that a portion of the revenue stream would not go to the disc retailers "because it would be too hard to do." He did not have a good answer when it was pointed out that it would not be hard to do because each disc has a serial number and the compny knows which retailer it shipped that disc to.

Divx is playing into the fears of movie companies with its enhanced encryption B.S. Smart move.

But, if you can pick the lock to your handcuffs, what good does it do to use two sets of handcuffs?
