those wicked and lying preachers of antichrist, the seventh day adventist cultists, will tell you that they are only trying to imitate the Lord by gathering on saturdays like Christ did. they will probably cite this verse to support their devious and wicked argument...
And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read. --Luke 4:16
so SDA cultists think they are imitating the Lord by gathering on the sabbath day rather than the Lord's day.
but what did the Lord of the sabbath say?
And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, and sought to slay him, because he had done these things on the sabbath day. But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work. --John 5:16-17
Christ said his Father worked up until that time, and he works as well!
so if these judaizing hypocrites want to imitate Christ they should work as he and his Father does. perhaps if they are so incessant on imitating the Lord they should fast for 40 days without food and water like the Lord Jesus did!
