Good point James. I have a observation about your preterist views. Preterists say the abomination of desolation was someone slaughtering a pig on the alter of the temple. But the greeks did the same thing 300 years before Jesus. And it was done many times by different conquerers including the Romans. SO I do not think that could be the abomination of desolation, I know it's not. The abomination of desolation is the rebuilt 3rd Temple! "standing in the Holy place."

The third temple is an abomination because by building it the Jewish people are once again rejecting Jesus to go back to the Law. What an abomination that is too to God who gave us His only Son as a sacrifice for our sins so we can be saved. Rejecting Jesus' sacrifice and the 2nd Covenant. And "desolation" because there is only death in the 3rd Temple and the Law. Desolation. And on the Holy place in Jerusalem where the 2nd Temple stood and very close to where Jesus was crucified, and where Abraham went to offer Isaac to the Lord.
