"Lawyers & Regulators — A Necessary Evil?" Fox is supposed to be conservative and in the pocket of business. Interesting article. The author got some of it right, and some wrong. The increase in regulations, laws and taxes have been a fact, not generally a positive contribution towards economic growth. Things that create predictability can help reduce risk. Factors such as Trial lawyers increase risk, and thus dampen economic output. Excessive regulations are often hatched by misguided people wishing to shape outcome. they are generally less successful than they had hoped.
