Hi shades - the Chinese K-16 is being pushed by the policy descendents of the people who brought us New Math in the 1960s.

These are not wishful thinking ineffective educational reformers.

They have a track record of getting what they want.

If it doesn't take in some parts of Florida, it will happen in other parts, and to some degree in every state.

My guess is this is part of some long term policy decisions made by people at the CFR Council on Foreign Relations and NSC National Security Council level. It will have bi-partisan approval, and the policy will continue through different administrations.
