Moominoid Re: "oil" Just watched something interesting on CNBC (and that by itself is a rarity <g>). The economist dude (Steve?) just posted some charts comparing the 1974,1979 and the current oil price spikes. Very big difference in that the two 1970's events really were "spikes" with the price running up (and afterwards down) almost vertically. The current price rise is very different, beginning years ago and running up gradually. Now if this was a stock chart, that would make the current high price more likely to stay high longer, right?
