If this argument was true, they would not even have tried competing in manufacturing.

Grace, these arguments are not as relevant as they used to be. Some of the people with deepest technical knowledge in the fields you mentioned are of Indian or Chinese origin. Many of them will work as hyphenated-americans and others will go back.

And if you are the biggest manufacturer of PCs in the world, don't you think you would have the brightest minds in Silicon Valley trying to give you solutions? Even B Grade Bollywood movies can hire the best special effects specialists of Hollywood to improve the look and feel of their products.
