Perhaps you could point out the passages in the undisputed letters of Paul where he discusses the life of Jesus? If Jesus were a literal figure, surely Paul would have used examples from his life and quoted his teachings on a regular basis. He really only quotes what Jesus said on the night he was "delivered up".

Have you not read any of the vast body of scholarship that supports my position? If you are ignorant of this work I can provide many on-line references.
