"It's really funny to see the complete lack of decency people have shown towards the President".

Of course, the same could be said about the lack of decency shown toward Clinton. I still remember Rush's famous comparison of Chelsea to a dog and the convicted felon (what the heck is his name....old hand over the candle - oh, yeah, G. Gordon Liddy) claiming that Clinton wasn't his President and claiming to use a cutout of Clinton for target practice.

All in all, respect is usually earned, not given. I didn't vote for Bush, but on September 12, 2001 he had me 100%. If he had wanted 50 year old vets to resign up, I would have been in line. Going into Afghanistan....you bet. 100% On board with him all the way.

And then we begin to part company. I never understood the necessity of going into Iraq instead of, say, dealing with North Korea (who is and always was more dangerous!). Since then, in my view, things have gotten worse. I don't find the man capable of putting together coherent sentences to explain what is going on and why we are doing it. Telling us it is "hard work" and "they hate us for our freedoms" just seems to talk down to people. (by the way, I sure hope some of those Iraqi women won't end up with fewer freedoms under that new constitution).

I can respect the Presidency without respecting the guy in office. That was always the claim of the Republicans back in the 1990s.
