Actually, I would like to see some of the information on the subject. I have often wondered about the timing between the life or Christ and when the writings took place. The Gospel of Thomas is a great example of the impact of history on the Bible. Maybe we should rename the thread to reflect the impact of history on religious texts. It's really important to understand the impact of the early Christians and Romans to decide what was best to put in the bible.

Also, it would be really interesting to see what the Muslims were doing for 600 years between the birth of Christ and the birth of Mohammed. Were they revolting from any religious pressure at the time they backed Mohammed?
