Maybe I'm cynical after all these years, but when I hear a CEO loudly proclaiming he's buying stock I immediately think scam. Look at SEC lawsuits and you'll see that after the CEO gets investors to buy just like he supposedly is, he then starts selling into the run-up. When I first read stuff Byrne had written about himself and Overstock, I considered him to be smart and articulate. After reading stuff about him and seeing all those red flags (especially about how he and family and friends control the vast majority of stock; shades of Crazy Eddie, the electronics chain store owner whose prices were "insane"), I consider him to be very sly and hard to trust. Something just isn't right here and it's just a matter of time before someone figures it out.
