Linden I am extremely happy that you posted your response and cleared some things up. This may be a first. Someone technical from the company responding to my post (perhaps part of my strategy:) Linden of course I will defer to your expert technical opinion on the DVD-Browser. Its just that looking at the block diagram it appeared that external decryption chips were required for MPEG2 play? Yes it inherently supports MPEG1 and MPEG2 - agreed. However why is the VideoCD 2.0 compliant listed as a feature when there is little interest domestically in this. Why not play up its MPEG2 (could not find it mentioned) compatibility? When you say it supports True Object-Oriented Active Movie are you saying that it MUST support MPEG2 to meet this standard? Finally, remember for the most part, we are investors, shareholders etc., not technical or even knowledgable about DVD or its architecture. We act on what is provided us by the various wire services. No I have not played with IDB, nor have I seen ZRAN's product. My opinion on ZRAN being a superior product is based on the following:

1. Compaq has selected them for Presario (wire info)
2. No additional decryption chips required (wire info)
3. They were at least 60 days behind OAKT to market
yet have apparently grabbed a foothold in the market
before OAKT with the Compaq win.

Can you tell us why ZRAN was selected over OAKT by Compaq? Was it technical, cost, or even political reasons? Has there been serious interest in the product? Enquiring minds NEED to know.

Linden whether you care to respond to this or not, again I appreciate your post. I think it is a first. Good Luck with your career at OAKT.
