i see the whole process as being evolutionary...

things change

witness them and adapt

i try hard not to harbor any resentment toward the days of yore. there's never a shortage of shoddy advice when we look at things in retrospect. legions of men have made mistakes throughout the course of history. i say forget about the blame factor

ill will is a disease .. don't let it consume you

<<What does the US do then - besides real estate, medical care, retail services, etc??>>

great question.. one in which i haven't been able to answer for myself. My original collegiate intentions were to attend an IT school. Before my enrollment, I determined that the IT path was too restrictive. The likely outcome led to my being an expert in some obscure, specialized field. That didn't seem optimal, and so I withdrew my application and sent it to a reputable business school. I figured that this way, if I later found myself stuck in an industry that's going downhill, I could then take the variable skillset that a business degree inspires, and apply it somewhere else.

I'm not yet done with my schooling, but so far.. it seems like the right decision.
