I understand change protege - I went into IT in the 1980s - when we were encouraged to by corporations and the government.
It is much easier to change while you are still in college. Once you've devoted 15-20 years to a field, then see them pull the rug out from under all those in it - you are not so forgiving.

I have adapted by going into other business activities too - but many cannot. Many have lost their life's work, homes, money - easy to say they should not resent that - but hard to do in practice.

Still wondering what the US will specialize in though - general business skills are great - but may not be competitive either in 10-20 years...just IMO
