No, the cable not only receives the digital signal but it also sends signals to the dish to tell it what satellite and transponder to pay attention to so you can't simply split as if it were an antenna. You need 2 for a dual tuner. If one needs more cables than the four that can connect to the current standard dish (triple satellite) you can get a multiswitch which will allow for more cables to the inside while allowing the 2-way nature of the cable to remain intact.
