First of all, thank you for the word definition instruction on "threat" and "history".

Secondly, I suspect that your 2700 number is a tad low.

Third, did you forget or choose to overlook the 1993 WTC bombing where 6 died and over 1000 were injured? How about the attempted Millennium Eve bombing of LAX? That was the one the French figured out for us since the "gorelick wall" prevented a timely exchange of info. Of course, the clinton's happily took the credit for stopping this disaster. All these events were conducted members of AQ.

Finally, I'm not taking issue with cobalt's concern about h. clinton as president. I probably share her viewpoint. I was merely questioning cobalt's opinion on who is the greater threat - the communists or the terrorists (read AQ). It is patently obvious to the casual observer that AQ is the greater threat. What the soviets "could have done" is meaningless today. As you said, it is "history".
