Hey MrLucky,

Well, I had high hopes for him, in particular after his fights against current WBO champ Brewster and Olympic medalist Clay-Bey. He was an action fighter for sure, but with only average heavyweight punching power. More importantly, the Oquendo fight demonstrated that Etienne's chin was questionable at best; and, that being the case, his star began to fade. It's a story reminiscent of that of former top contender Oleg Maskaev, whom in two consecutive fights Kirk Johnson and Lance Whitaker sent to the Dustbin of Heavyweight Irrelevance.

If I remember correctly - and I certainly may not - his payday for the bout against Tyson early in 2004 was about a million even. Had he run through it that quick? Was he asset rich, cash poor? Or did he simply miss the adrenaline rush of being on the wrong side of the tracks?

Who can say? Another one bites the dust.
