George, who made the equipment you are using? There is a plethora of new wireless & related type things in the
pipeline. The real potential of some of this stuff is in the 3rd
world, and they are coming into the inet/cell phone/un-wired world in super quick time.
And of course the last mile problem we have here in the states, and in some places that are ignored all together by business, so many local systems, set up and run by users are being started now as the technologies become more stable and easier to set up.

As I mentioned somewhere on here, I set up a wimax deal on my
boat/shore so I could have a cheap link without having to use a
cellular type connection. In other words I wanted to control it. The
equip was actually given to me by my bud from YDIW, who has worked for
many wireless co's over the years.
Using this experience, setting up a neighborhood system would be a
piece of cake.
