URBAN ANNOUNCES AGREEMENT WITH 45 SCHOOLS

September 3, 1997 Trading Symbol VSE: UJS

Vancouver, B.C., CANADA -- Urban Juice & Soda Company Ltd. (the "Company" or "Urban"), announced today that it has signed an agreement with the Wellington County Board of Education ("Wellington School Board") of Ontario, Canada, making Urban's Jones Soda brand the proprietary soda sold throughout 45 schools in the Wellington school area (located just west of Toronto) of Ontario.

Urban Juice & Soda Company Ltd. was approached in May, 1997 by Creative Concepts International Inc., a marketing company which represents a number of school boards throughout Canada. Jones Soda was then tested in June within the Wellington School Board system and prior to the school year-end. Based on this response, both Urban and the Wellington School Board have moved to complete the set up of Jones Soda as its proprietary soda, replacing other brands of soda in its schools for the beginning of school in September, 1997.

Urban will install a "Jones" vending machine in each of the 45 schools to sell Jones throughout the schools whose school populations range from Kindergarten to Grade 13, or ages 5 -18. Urban has agreed to supply Jones Soda in P.E.T. or plastic for this school program and any future programs.

The population of students for the Wellington School Board region is 25,000 students and based on sales history in these schools, the Wellington School Board has estimated that sales for the 45 school program should be in the CAD$2,000,000 range.

Urban is pleased to have signed such an agreement with the Wellington School Board and looks forward to the success of this program and roll-out of it to other school boards across Canada.
