Conservative cities are booming, liberal cities are dying
By Aaron The Blue State Conservatives
The nonpartisan, Berkeley-based Bay Area Center for Voting Research (try saying that with a straight face) has come out with a new list of the most conservative and liberal cities with a population over 100,000.
The most conservative city in America: Provo, Utah.
The most liberal city in America: Detroit, Michigan.
I decided to combine U.S. Census info with this list to get an idea of how fast these areas are growing or shrinking. The numbers proved to be very, very bad for liberals. From 2000 to 2004, the top 25 conservative cities gained over 329,187 new residents while the top 25 liberal cities lost 175,863 people despite New York gaining over 95,000. So during Bush's first term, the conservative area gained over half million on liberal areas. Imagine what it is going to be like in another 4, 8 or 12 years.
Check out the growth numbers from 2000 to 2004. Cities with positive growth in bold, those with negative growth in italics

UPDATE: I decided to dig farther into the list and see just how bad it is for liberals in the next 25 cities. Now, taking into account the top 50 cities of each the conservative areas gained over 668,426 people on the top liberal areas. The top 50 liberal cities lost 40,352, but even that number is misleading. Taking New York and Los Angeles out of the mix and liberal areas lost an incredible 287,874 in just four years.
