In 2002 I was optimistic that Schröder would lose the election - and turned out to be wrong. I don't dare to predict what will happen this time. My "feeling" is that the economic troubles have become much worse than in 2002 and that the threat of a possible Iran war is much less of a nightmare than Iraq in 2002 so that Schröder's cheap game won't play out this time.
