Shades Re: "Carter" Well, he could do what he did back then; get him a great big armfull of thick books on the history of Persia and retire to the Presidential bedroom to study up on the subject before taking any action. <g> He actually did that, no joke. But I doubt he would need to do that as he would be unlikely to be in conflict with them like Bush. It is really ironic that he was back in his day; he really wanted the Shah and any other pro-US dictator overthrown. If they hadn't seized the US embassy he would probably have supported their "people power" revolution. I have always thought that the CIA or other US spooks were behind the embassy capture. Put Carter at odds with a group he would have otherwise supported. Slagle
