Born Again/Saved is a rightwing religious construct. They ask you to accept irrational belief in a mythical Christ as your "high" in life and demand you stay there. Then they politicize it and try to turn you against the rest of society. But the reality is, like my born again cousin found out, once he'd witnessed 9-11, then lost his job he just got angry, started drinking a lot and realized it's all BS. Now who knows what he believes. Because nothing the religious right believes in can ever be proven to be true. In fact there is a lot of evidence to the contrary. What it's really all about is social conformity, prudishness, war against despair and trying to put some meaning (any meaning) into your life for many people with dull depressing lives. Religion is the opiate of the people. Yes, though religion has a lot of truth to it. Take your pick which religion though. Which one makes the most sense?
