All I'm fairly sure of is all the justifications given so far (WMD, "free the Iraqi people", etc.) are bullshit.

They were all factors, you cannot rationally just dismiss them. Unfortunately they were coupled with BELIEF, which is a dangerous thing, hence the half-baked rational & half-baked plans with the concomitant results. But pegging oil sales to the Euro was WAY down the list, if it was one at all.
