IDB is an international product, and as such, must contain features necessary for these markets. As you mention, VideoCD support is IMHO, a requirement in the far east.

>> Object-Oriented Active Movie are you saying that it MUST support
MPEG2 to meet this standard?

MPEG2 is not required for activemovie. It is required for the DVD 1.0 specification. ActiveMovie is a Win32 (i.e. 95 and NT) multimedia environment which is media neutral.

It depends on the OEM--Oak is customer friendly and will work with the OEM's needs/desires.

I understand, BUT you should be careful is saying something is superior/inferior site unseen.

Can't comment on this.

>> Has there been serious interest in the product?

IDB contains tremendous technology in an environment (ActiveMovie) which everyone is interested in, but few (other than Oak) have software solutions for. As such, it has attracted considerable interest from anyone who sees or hears about it (I can't mention names, so don't even ask).

Would the readers ofd this forum be interested in a layman's overview of why DVD in ActiveMovie is so superior/different?
