The hard line of the West has resulted in the recent election of a hard line Iranian as leader.

The prevention of something along the lines of 1,400 candidates deemed unacceptable by the mullahs allowed only "hard liners" to run. You, or course, blame that on "the West", and not on the mullahs that banned 99% of the candidates.

Your perspective is a joke.

And as I understand it, the winner won more based on his ability to provide jobs and reduce corruption as mayor of Tehran than on his political ideology. The Iranian people are sick of their leadership.

The only solution is to include Iran in the circle of nuclear countries and try to encourage as much interaction as possible through trade and other progressive means in an attempt to moderate the current regime.

You would give the wife beater a bigger baseball bat, and also have him over for BBQs in the daytime in the hopes that the BBQ would moderate his behavior. The rest of us would just throw him in jail.
