The big hole in his argument is that gold and silver declined in price for 20 inflationary years. True, that may mean that they are a bargain now, especially silver, but it is not true that they are protection against inflation. Not unless you have a verrrrrry long investment horizon. If you bought silver back when it was $50, $40, $30, $20 or even $10 an ounce, you have not protected yourself from inflation at all.
