Sidney - I don't follow Bush, I follow Jesus. I am only trying to make others aware of their hatred. Hatred blinds us. That is why the scripture says not to let the sun go down on my anger. When I do I only let my soul become diseased. The need for a personal inventory is paramount. I must constantly check for resentment and pray for those that I am tempted to hate. Bush is just a man. Clinton is just a man. Kerry is just a man. I don't worship or hate any of them. They all make mistakes but I am suggested to forgive them like Jesus said in the Lord's Prayer. "Forgive us our trespasses AS we forgive those that trespass against us." I must forgive all to be forgiven myself. There are may people whos actions I do not like. Jesus shows us the perfect example when he was on the cross when he prayed FOR THEM by asking the Father "Forgive them for they know not what they do." If this was Jesus' attitude in light of what they had done to Him, then surely no one has done worse to us. This is a difficult principle to master because so many people think that their resentments are the "right kind". If I want to be free I must master this principle. I have worked very hard to rid myself of all my resentments. I made a list of all people that I hated and began to see the futility of my hate. I asked God to help me forgive everyone on the list. Some of my resentments were removed at once, but others I had to keep praying for them until it was removed. My prayers had a profound effect on me and others. I FIRMLY BELIEVE that if I really want someone to change to ONLY thing I can do is ask that God's will be done in their life. This really works. I have been tempted lately to resent some of the people on this thread. Instead, I choose to pray for them...all of them...I have been praying for everyone on this thread. Many will scoff at this approach because they don't know the power of prayer. Prayer is the MOST powerful weapon on earth. It makes a nuclear bomb look like a fire cracker. Jesus prayed over and over...this is often overlooked by people who claim HIM and His teachings. If I don't pray how can I expect anything good to happen in my life? God Bless - No Doubt] Cris
