Gary & John,

Hey guys, since you're engineers. Can you please confirm if this is correct?

If 10,000 machines all have the same chip, then it would only take (theoretically) one range of tests to determine the Y2K exposure for all those machines. For those who registered their purchase at the time of acquisition, it would seem likely that a responsible manufacturer would notify all owners of the exposure and the availability of a fix. (Note that this is my concern with the TPRO's of the world. Lots of Y2K exposure, but not every plant manager has to run the analysis.)

It is my understanding (but, I'm definitely not an expert), that some of these embedded chips have been customized for different customers. Or, is it that the software that works between or among chips, is that which is customized?

You can email me an answer, if you'd prefer.

Thanks for your help,

Cheryl
