Those were not introduced until mid 1999 and naturally are not considered in your calculation.
As I said, there is info I do not have access to and cannot consider. I doubt PMs cut THAT much into posts. though. Generally people wont post what they will put into a PM.

Then there are all of the other metrics like ad impressions delivered, ad clicks, pages viewed, counts of unique posters, visitors, active boards, registrations, reactivations, all broken out by genre, and viewed on different moving average periods and intervals in order to weed out most of the noise.
Hey, make it all available and I'll crunch it.
