Be assured...I always think.
mostly I think about my personal behavior when it comes to life....and how I earn my way through.
My family in the last decade has faced near death events.....financial destruction......and the teenage years of parenting.....
Praying for ones daughter to live life well and honorable.....praying for her to survive medical conditions.....that's an easy one for me...
Praying for better cards at the poker table......a stock to move in my direction......or to get something on sale at Walmart....well these things just don't make my list.
Ever wonder if the "system" wasn't filled with those things that we humans should simply deal with ourselves that maybe the really big stuff might get more "attention?"

Shootie: I've got to tell you I find a lot of inconsistency in this post of yours.

Obviously you are a praying person but as in the case of your chiding Jane about her praying for the sale of a house you said you were kidding her but I don't think you were kidding. You say above.

I have said it here a thousand times. It's hard to serve God if you are not prospering financially. Not impossible but very hard. I believe the bible teaches against speculation but good investments can bring the Lord glory over time. Gambling is not a Christian activity. We would never pray for a person to profit in a poker game here because it is contrary to the teachings of the bible.

Lets see about buying clothes at Wal Mart. We shouldn't pray to get them on sale. We should go in the day before and day after the sale to pay a higher price for them. I believe the Lord orders the steps of the righteous man so that he will make wise purchases. He is interested in the leftovers or he would not have had his disciples gather up all the leftovers after he fed the 5000.

mostly I think about applying my behavior in life to the principles in the bible and the tremendous blessings the Lord has bestowed upon me. As was quoted this week . One cannot control his fortune but one can control his character.

>>Ever wonder if the "system" wasn't filled with those things that we humans should simply deal with ourselves <<

As Christians we should give all things over to the Lord. We should depend on him for all the little things so we are better prepared to give him the big things when they happen.

Tell your daughter the splinter in her finger is a little thing she should take care of herself. Those little things can hurt a lot and our heavenly father knows that.

You know how I think God will get us out of Iraq. ......

You can have a million people praying . God get us out of Iraq and I think many more than that are praying for that to happen.

God is not moved . Until one isolated mother starts praying for her little Johnnie to come home. God she cries out. Get my Johnnie home. And she never lets up. She bombards heaven . Day and night. Night and day. Her cries and wails are heard in heaven. Her moaning is never ending. The angels are moved. Business as usual is disrupted in heavens halls.

God sees no other way out. The only way to bring Johnnie home is to move 15 battle groups, 4 divisions, 75 army reserve units. 3 carrier groups. out just so Johnnie comes home. Yes the selfish prayers are answered too. Many times it is the small prayer that is heard. From the insignificant person. With the bad attitude. Who has been beat up by this thing we call life. Because God understands.

In Christ...Gregor
