Nearly everyone in the military who would think the same way, especially if they re-enlisted to serve.

Can you imagine what WW2 would have been like if our media spent this kind of attention on a single "grieving mother" story? They probably could have ran non-stop coverage day and night. Imagine what fodder they could have made over the Sullivan brothers tragedy?

What I would love to see one of the media sources do is interview the media camped out and ask them why this story is so important. Why is this one mother getting so much of your air time when literally hundreds of mothers and fathers with the exact opposite point of view have received nearly zero coverage.

I would also like to see them ask this mother whether she thinks she is dishonoring the memory of her fallen soldier who was doing exactly what he wanted to do with his life.

They won't, because they are using her in much the same way as she is using her dead son. For political fodder against the Bush Administration.

This story, like so many others, highlights why we should do everything possible to maintain an all volunteer force. Imagine the media play and ramifications to policy if the young man had been "forced" to serve.
