The "threat" of bearish seasonality and other macro-cycles can't be a factor in my short-term trading ski. It will make me doubt strong bullish set-ups when there is no real reason to. You think 2004 qualifies? Very subjective call IMO. The SPX low for the year came in August (around this time) and subsequently has been in an uptrend albeit with a coupe of multi-month sideways chop. BTW, that recent SMH bullish wedge was obviously not right, making new lows here but it still is in a slightly larger wedge. I'm always a wiggle early on these things....story of my life.-vbg
