Yes, and when pushed he was unable to back most of it up.

Both Dowd and Krugman have blogs that fisk them on a regular basis.

Just a measure of influence. An odd one, admittedly. But if columnists are deemed to have some influence, apparently some members of the right wing think it's their god-given duty to try to smear them. (I'm excluding the several who actually try to mount serious arguments, not ad hominem ones.)

Herbert is just laughed at. I don't bother to post the constant fisks of Rich because nobody here pays any attention to him.

You have an interesting thread here with some interesting posters. But this is hardly the universe of political opinion in this country. Much of those attacks are an index of the sad state of the current political culture. Us/them thinking.
