"Like a city on a hill..." and all that. That would be fine with me. However, we have this superpower thingy and this superwealth thingy. In addition to that, over there is no longer 'over there'. The world has changed, cultures have clashed and enmeshed. The city on the hill may have been practical when borders, ethnicities, political ideologies, fundamental living principles and world views separated people into distinct quarters but that is no longer the case. The blending trends we have seen in the past few decades are going to continue and in a rapid manner change the world to be something very unlike we have ever witnessed in history. Our current status of superpower and superwealth carries with it a heavy responsibility.
