Pat & Amati Fans - The people who post here are more knowledgeable about the technical differences of ADSL than I, a finance geek. However, when I read the posts about CAP leaks and noise I am dumdfounded and wonder to myself if anybody knows the condition of the outside plant.
By your comment, I think you may have interpreted my posts incorrectly.
No doubt, I am bias when it comes to quality of different technologies.
Though I do not want the reader to misunderstand the information I have posted. So in all fairness to CAP, no matter how inferior in comparision to DMT, I must specify that CAP leaks in the VDSL frequency ranges, and does not to my knowledge leak unwanted emissions into the air when implemented in ADSL.
Everybody talks in hi-tech terms, but the last mile for high speed data will only work with a product that does the least damage and need the least amount of conditioning period. IMHO, this can be only DMT based ADSL.
ADSL CAP does not do any damage ie. interferance of Shortwave, except that it is more susceptible interferances,and a host of other variables which may mutilate the data of the user.
You are correct in your view, though the term most often used is Robust.
DMT is robust in a Copper twisted-pair environment.
